Before the fire the farm consisted of 600 head of Registered Holstein cattle. 150 milk cows, an average of 60 dry cows, and the rest young stock. In 2011 Hardys Holsteins introduced Lely robots to its milking operation. Making us the first in our area to take on the task and some of the first in Michigan. In 2012 robotic calf feeding was introduced as well and was also the first for the state.
The herd on average milks 90 pounds per cow and has been awarded many accomplishments over the years. More recently in 2016 the herd was awarded Lowest Somatic Cell Count in the county by DHIA. Producing high quality milk has always been a driven passion for Hardys Holsteins.
After the fire a large Restoration Process and Expansion began. The Herd has now expanded to over 1000 head of livestock. The new state of the art Robotic Facility consisting of 8 Delaval Robotic Milkers made its debut in January of 2019.
